Published in 1985 by Saga Publications in Arborg, Manitoba, Icelandic River Saga is an 847 page history of the Icelandic River and Ísafold Settlements on the west shore of Lake Winnipeg.   This unique area bordering on boreal forest was settled by Icelandic immigrants in 1876, but also became home to Hungarians, Swedish Minnesotans, Anglo-Americans, 'Galicians', 'Soldier Settlers', Depression era 'Back to the Land' families, and Mennonite settlers.
